Hello and Happy New Year! Just stopping by to share some winter finishes today. Above is a punch needle pin pillow called "For Ewe". Design by Teresa Kogut. I punched this using Valdani thread. I then stitched the punched piece onto coordinating wool and backed with a cotton print fabric. It was then firmly stuffed with sawdust, cotton and wool scraps. I stitched cream colored hand dyed wool yarn to the edges. I love how it turned out!!
Next, I finished this cute snow lady pillow. I love her! This "Winter Is Here" pattern is designed by Doreen Frost of Vermont Harvest Folk Art. I love her designs! This one is also punched using Valdani thread. I then stitched it onto faded green wool, backed it with a pretty cotton, and firmly stuffed with sawdust, cotton and wool clippings. I hand stitched black wool yarn to the edges. She turned out pretty cute, if I may say so myself. Onto some Valentine's Day things next.......
