Hearts in Basket~~

Hello!  Happy Friday!  I told you I would be back soon.  I have another finish I want to talk about today.  It is a small punch needle heart that I punched using 3 strand Valdani and DMC threads.  I really enjoy punching with 3 strands.  It is so much easier on the hand and the loops look so nice.  Very good for more detailed work.  This is a design by Lori Rippey of HomeSpunPrims.  She has lots of cross stitch, punch needle, quilting and rug hooking patterns on her website.  She just opened a new website, you can visit it HERE.  This pattern is called Hearts~n~Basket Hanger.  I backed this pillow with a red striped homespun fabric.  I also stuffed it very firmly with clean sawdust.  I attached black seam tape ribbon to the top for hanging.  I just love how it turned out.  I did have this on my website for sale last evening, but it has been sold.  I just wanted to stop by and share.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  It will be cold and Sunday we are supposed to get a bit of snow, so I plan on staying inside and punching.  Take care.  Be safe. Stay warm!!  Jen~~

The Gift is Small~~

Hello!  I have been MIA on this blog for over a year now!  I still love looking at everyone else's blogs, so I thought I should try to post here every now and again.

Today, I am going to talk about this sweet finish of a Pineberry Lane pattern called, The Gift is Small.  I have had this pattern for a while now and when I was looking through all of my patterns, I just decided I really needed to make this one, like right now!!  I stitched the pattern on 32 count natural linen using called for threads.  The words are all done in over one thread stitching, so I thought it would be much easier to see on the 32 count.  I then decided to make it into a little bag.  I absolutely love the way it turned out.  I attached the strap to the bag using old buttons.  It is currently listed in my shop.  There is a link at the top right.

As I said, I am going to try to post here more often, just for a little eye candy, at least.  Take care and be safe, Jen~~

Pretty Tulips!!

Happy May Day!!  I have a lovely little Coxcomb & Tulip punch needle mat ready for sale and available tonight in my Etsy shop at 9PM Easterm time!  (Pictured above).  It is a design by Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm.  I used a combination of DMC and Valdani threads.  It is backed with a patterned wool that I rolled around the edges and secured with thread.

Next up, pictured below, I have a cross stitch decorative pin pillow.  It is a design by Tina Woltman.  It is called Fraktur Tulips.  I stitched this onto a primitive linen using DMC threads.  A coordinating blue reproduction cotton fabric has been sewn to the bottom and a tan rick rack trim has been added.  It is backed in homespun and firmly stuffed with sawdust, wool, and cotton clippings.

Again, they will both be available tonight at 9:00 PM Eastern Time in my Etsy shop!!  Thanks so much and see you soon!!!

Newsletter Sign Up

I have been working on a few new things that will be available soon.  I just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that I have added a link to my blog so that you can sign up for my Newsletter.  It is just a faster, more direct way for me to let you know that I will be updating my shop.  I really try not to spend too much time on Facebook or Instagram anymore.  Blogs are prettier, I think.  And more friendly.  I have been noticing, too, that I don't get notifications as fast on those social media sites.  I find that this website I am using delivers the emails very quickly.

Another thing, I will not be taking any orders for a while.  I have so many new things I want to make, but it is hard to make new things when you are working on orders.  I do homeschool my daughter, so my time is limited a bit due to that.

I will be back in a few days to list a date and time for an update.  If you sign up for my Newsletter, then you will get an email from me letting you know when that update is.

The above items will be available as sets.  NO EARLY SALES.  The first picture shows a punch needle design by Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm and a cross stitch design by Jenny Hoffman.  The second set shows a punch needle design by Donna Munson and a cross stitch design by Shelly Auen.  There will probably be one other set available.  I am finishing something up now.

If you have any questions just email me at brushcreekneedlework.aol.com.  Take care and have a great day!!!

Some Spring Things~~

Hello, I thought I would share a few Spring punch needle finishes today!  All of these have been spoken for.  The cute bunny above is a design by Donna Munson called, Alexander Rabbit.  I did not resize this one.  It is punched using Valdani pearl cotton thread.  I stitched the punched piece onto some coordinating cotton.  I love how he turned out.  He is my favorite bunny out of all of the ones I have punched.

The two bunnies above are designs by Brenda Gervais of With Thy Needle and Thread.  This pattern is called Signs of Spring . So pretty . I had many requests for more of these to be made!!  All punched in Valdani cotton thread and stitched onto cotton fabric.

This last one is an embroidery pattern by Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm.  I simply just punched it instead of doing the embroidery.  I am working on teaching myself embroidery.  Lori has a very nice video on her YouTube channel that helps.  She also offers lots of cool embroidery patterns in her Etsy shop.  You can find them HERE.  I have so many of her patterns!!!  Love them all!!!!

Well, that 's all I have to share today!  I am going to do a little tidying up in the sewing room.  I hope to be able to crack open a window or two.  It supposed to be nice here today in Southwestern Pa.

                               Take care,
                                                 Jen

Summer at Hollyberry Farm

Hello!!  I have been working on some Spring punch needle project, but in between I have become addicted to stitching this project!  That house is very big, but I absolutely love it!  Almost every cross stitch pattern I fall in love with has a big house in it.  I love those Americana swags!  This is a pattern by Stacy Nash.  I am stitching it using called for threads on 40 count R&R Reproduction Winter's Brew.  I have been favoring the 40 count linens lately.  Love those tiny stitches.  You just need some awesome readers and a really good light.  I have like 3 different Ott lights in various locations all over the house.  You need good lighting for punch needle too (at least I do)!  Lol!  I am off to do a little more stitching on this tonight and watch a few movies with my daughter.  Take care and try to survive this dreaded time change!!!
